Introducing Your…

As Terry Gilligan, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Core, reiterated during his visit to the Glasgow office earlier this month, it’s time to establish the Imagine Learning Studios culture that we want to be a part of. What better place to start than planning for a year of fun social events… Forced Fun Facilitators, assemble!

In May, your department heads nominated a rep for the newly formed social committee. Working together with Agnieszka Davren, Director of HR,  they have been given the important task of reintroducing fun to the office and making social activities a priority. Embracing this mission, each member brings hunners of ideas, bucketloads of enthusiasm and bags of personality to the team. Let’s find out more about them…

Caitlin Wilson

Role: Office Coordinator

Representing: Operations

Mission: As the new office coordinator, I’m bringing my newly minted event planning expertise to the FFF team and am looking forward to planning some fun events to bring everyone together — and overall just have a laugh!

Fun fact: I (used to be) fairly fluent in Italian, as I used to work as a tutor/au pair in Italy.

Darren Jenkins

Role: Senior Software Engineer

Representing: Technical Development

Mission: I normally coordinate events for the digital team, so thought I may as well use these talents elsewhere. I want to help make a good social culture. Being a remote worker myself, I want to make sure all the work social events are accessible for all of our members of staff – not just the ones that can join in Glasgow. I want to make sure remote workers aren’t left behind.

Fun fact: For the last ten years, my hobby has been close-up magic and sleight of hand. I am not available for children’s parties.

Dee Ivanova

Role: Senior Project Manager

Representing: Project Management

Mission: I’ve been helping out planning all of our online fun since Covid began, and now I’m really looking forward to bringing all the fun face to face! My mission is to remind everyone to never underestimate the importance of having fun!

Fun fact: I’m a mermaid… 🧜‍♀️ Not really, but I am an advanced scuba diver and can enjoy our underwater world up to 30 metres depth.

Heather Drummond

Role: Marketing Executive

Representing: Marketing

Mission: I love getting together with everyone and just generally having a good laugh, so I’m really excited to help throw some fun events and parties! My mission is to encourage terrible dancing from EVERYONE so I don’t stick out like a sore thumb on the dance floor!

Fun fact: I’m a pretty open book so I don’t have too much mystery about me… but I can speak somewhat fluent French!

Laura Frame

Role: Design Asset Coordinator

Representing: Content

Mission: The design team have already had a lot of fun forced out of them by me over the last couple of years, so I guess I have graduated to annoying everyone else to have a good time and be pals as well as colleagues. I pledge to ensure drinks, dancing and dogs are always highly considered during fun enforcement.

Fun fact: I truly love happy hardcore.

Lisa MacKenzie

Role: Development Editor

Representing: Content

Mission: I have the counterintuitive role of blocking suggestions that are too exciting with my boring stick. I reel them in and prevent everything from becoming too much fun.

Fun fact: I think most of my friends know this by now, but I once appeared on All Star Family Fortunes (we lost).

Noby Leong

Role: Producer

Representing: Production

Mission: My mission is to force fun onto others. You WILL have a good time, whether you like it or not!

Fun fact: My superpower is the ability to buy a chocolate bar and not eat it immediately. My record is 1.5 years – a Snickers bar that is slowly collecting dust on my mantelpiece

Victoria Velasco Sánchez

Role: Spanish Reversioning Editor

Representing: Content Management & Delivery

Mission: Twig’s a place full of amazing people, and I’m here to bring everyone together! Whether at parties or daily in the office, I want everyone to feel welcomed and surrounded by office pals.

Fun fact: I can recite every word of The Return of the King off by heart.

To give you a taste of what’s to come… amongst other things, you can look forward to payday drinks, summer picnics, group hikes and festive parties. The first event to add to your calendar, of course, is Catherine’s farewell party celebration.

Wednesday June 15 @ 4.30 – 10.30 pm

The Haberdashery, 545 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, G3 7PQ
