This week, we get to know Garry as he tells us all about his role at Twig!
What’s your job title here at Twig?
I’m a STEM Activity Co-ordinator.
Tell us a bit about what your role involves and how you became a part of the team at Twig.
Basically, I am the hands-on kit guy! Most of the time I work on our middle school science product. I test all the hands-on activities and organize the kits. I work out the details of what has to be in each kit so that teachers and students have everything they need. Previous to working at Twig, I used to travel around Scotland doing science workshops and science shows for schools, which led me to working on this project.
In three words, how would you best describe Twig Education to our followers?
Really good kits!
What is your favorite thing about your role at Twig?
The best part of my job is that whenever our content team needs an idea for a hands-on activity tested, I get the fun job of trying all the kit out and doing all the experiments. I love getting to try out my own ideas too!
What helps motivate you on those days when you need a little push?
I know that I learn best from physically doing experiments with my own hands, so the thought that I might be helping students do the same motivates me.
If you weren’t working at Twig Education, what would you be doing?
Doing science shows.
If you could go back in time and give advice to your 16-year-old self, what would it be?
Get a different haircut.
Could you share an interesting fact about yourself for our followers? Something that we don’t already know about you?
I was once interviewed on Japanese TV!
