Tell us a bit about your role and how you became a part of the team at Twig.
I joined Twig shortly after finishing my master’s degree in Medical Visualization. I wanted to find a position where I could be creative and scientific. I actually originally applied for a marketing position because I was just really eager to be part of the company, as it seemed like such an engaging and exciting place. I ended up landing a role as the Interactives Content Coordinator. Now I work closely with the rest of the Twig Science team to create interactives that help students engage with the scientific content. I am responsible for researching and gathering the content in the interactives, collecting information and data, and writing briefs. I also work closely with the digital design team and interactive developers to ensure the design and functionality of each interactive harmonizes with the content and learning behind it.
In three words, how would you best describe Twig Education to our followers?
Wacky, engaging, and fun.
What is your favorite thing about your role at Twig?
Every day is different. Sometimes I’ll be looking at how volcanoes are formed, the next I’ll be researching bee genetics!
What helps motivate you on those days when you need a little push?
Cups of tea! After a good cuppa, you can take on anything.
If you weren’t working at Twig Education, what would you be doing?
My sensible answer is I would love to be a graphic designer or an illustrator. My not-so-sensible answer is a West End musical star!
If you could go back in time and give advice to your 16-year-old self, what would it be?
There are a lot of opportunities and careers out there you won’t have even heard of. Don’t be too worried about knowing what you want to do in life. Find what makes you happy, what you enjoy, and the rest will follow.
Could you share an interesting fact about yourself for our followers? Something that we don’t already know about you?
I can say the alphabet backwards!
