Since launching in 2011, our resources are now used by over 150,000 teachers, in over 60 countries and in 19 different languages. Our award-winning videos, digital resources and lesson materials are created in our head offices in Glasgow, near Kelvingrove Park, by a team of around 80 filmmakers, designers, developers, writers, teachers, academics and parents.
We have a Digital team of over 30 members, ranging from Product Owners, Product Designers, Developers, Testers and Cloud Dev-Ops people. As a member of the Digital Team, you will be working closely with agile development sub-teams who are constantly expanding and evolving to support and grow Twig products.
The technical team works with all areas of the business, but we organise ourselves around upcoming projects and tasks with the help of product owners and UX gurus. The team takes ownership of their work from requirements gathering, through development and testing, to completion. The technologies and tools we use are researched and selected by the team. 10% of everyone’s time is set aside for personal development and team improvement.
It’s not expected that any single candidate would have expertise across all of these areas but you may be a good fit for this role if you:
Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders, subject matter experts and software teams.
Can ensure that the commonly used Agile ceremonies are booked, organised, happen, and are facilitated well. (Daily Standup, Feature/Story Kickoffs, Retrospectives, Progress Demonstrations, 3 Amigos Meetings), and where necessary, coach team members to be self-sustaining and organise all of the above ceremonies themselves
Can facilitate any follow up actions resulting from ceremonies are completed.
Can facilitate planning for the current and upcoming features
Can work with the Product Team to ensure the development teams are focused on the highest priorities
Can work with the teams to ensure that the boards are updated regularly to reflect progress
Can work to remove impediments blocking the development teams’ progress (or escalate to the Head of Development and Product Team where appropriate).
Can, with the assistance of the Product Owners, shield the development teams from external distractions and interferences with project delivery.
Can report progress, issues, blockages, scope shifts and delays to the Head of Development and the Project Team
Understand and/or are willing to learn and implement Servant Leadership principles
Can administer agile tools such as Jira as well as propose others where necessary
Have a minimum of 3 years industry experience working in a role of similar capacity or 5+ years
- working in agile environments and appreciate various different agile methodologies.
