The Role:
  • Copy editing a variety of editorial content for print and digital 

  • Proofreading content to ensure consistent house style

  • Preparing files for typesetting and upload

  • Quality checking the work of typesetters and designers

  • Quality checking films and preparing scripts for voiceover and translation

  • Answering customer queries and reporting content fixes

  • Working collaboratively on projects with other editors, graphic designers, and other teams

  • Strictly adhering to in-house publishing guidelines, workflows, and processes

  • Editorial tasks for other teams (e.g., Production, Content Management, and Marketing).

Competencies:
  • Managing own workload and prioritising in order to meet project timelines and
    publication deadlines.

  • Organised and methodical working methods in order to accurately track the status of
    lessons/assets/tasks.

  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure consistency and accuracy across all content types.

  • Adaptable and positive approach to work, be a strong team player.

  • Clear and thoughtful communication with colleagues to build and maintain good
    working relationships.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with an understanding of the impact on other project areas and when to escalate issues to management.

Work Environment

We operate a hybrid working model with three days spent in the Glasgow office and two working from home. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring they have a suitable working space which supports high performance.
