Job role

Overview of Position

A position has become available for a highly competent, driven and organised Print Production Manager to oversee and facilitate the print supply chain within Twig Education worldwide. One of the main goals of the position is to ensure the smooth operations of a variety of channels aiming for maximum efficiency and timely delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative educational media company, and your role will be vital in getting these resources quickly and effectively to their recipients across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the UK Print managers to ensure seamless organisation from the start of the print process through to the logistics process and then final delivery to the fulfilment centre.
  • Liaise with creative teams for Artwork delivery and forwarding to Print suppliers. Work alongside creative teams on new product developments to ensure print efficiencies.
  • Manage a variety of print projects from start to finish including travel to print suppliers to perform Press Passing and diligent QC.
  • Work closely with US Operations and assist with logistics of new and existing products.
  • Take Ownership and create ASN (advance ship notices) of products arriving into the US warehouse. Ensure the fulfilment house has copies of the delivery notes and track shipping ensuring the relevant people are kept informed of the process and ETA’s.
  • Budget management – communicate with print suppliers and shipping agents to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction.
  • Organising and managing our shipping agent for the print to go as packs or pallets by air or sea container.
  • Paper and materials procurement for all products, dealing with paper suppliers and logistics of deliveries.
  • Ensure fulfilment consolidation matches what you printed and shipped.

  • Experience in the Print Production Sector, With a focus on managing and organising large complex print projects 
  • Experience required in managing projects for short run digital print, multi format sheet fed litho, through to large scale Web Offset print.
  • Paper purchasing experience and a general understanding of the paper industry as a whole 
  • Experience in Logistics and Shipping – With a focus on International export from the UK to the US would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in data recording and IT in order to utilise logistics IT to optimise shipping and transport procedures
  • Accurate reporting skills are required for the position
  • Proficiency in Excel, google sheets and other tools 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organisation & coordination abilities required
  • Great record-keeping abilities
  • Customer oriented approach
  • Experienced in supply management principles and practices

  • Experience in Ocean Exports and International Air Freight, and be fully conversed with the associated operational processes and documentation.

Work Environment

We operate a hybrid working model with three days spent in the Glasgow office and two working from home. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring they have a suitable working space which supports high performance.
