Since launching in 2011, our resources are now used by over 150,000 teachers, in over 60 countries and in 19 different languages. Our award-winning videos, digital resources and lesson materials are created in our head offices in Glasgow, near Kelvingrove Park, by a team of around 80 filmmakers, designers, developers, writers, teachers, academics and parents.
We have a Digital team of over 30 members, ranging from Product Owners, Product Designers and Developers. As a member of the Product Team, you will be working with fellow Product Owners, Product Designers and business stakeholders to devise product features and solutions. You will work closely with feature development teams to ensure features are delivered as per specifications, ensuring the highest level of quality.
It’s not expected that any single candidate would have expertise across all of these areas but you may be a good fit for this role if you:
Product Owner duties and responsibilities
Provide vision and direction to the feature development team and stakeholders throughout
Work with business stakeholders and product design team to create requirements
Turn business vision and stakeholder requirements into actionable user stories
Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
Collaborate with other Product Owners to maintain a coherent product roadmap
Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
Assess value, develop cases, and prioritise features to ensure work focuses on those with maximum
value that are aligned with product strategy
Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of user stories
Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful completion of features
Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
Follow and research competitors and the industry
Product Owner requirements and qualifications
Previous working experience as a Product Owner for minimum 3 years, in the digital product space
Have previously delivered a successful digital products / features a must
In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
A user-centred focus, enthusiasm for UX design and all things digital
Creative thinker with vision
Attention to detail
Knowledge and/or experience within the Ed Tech space highly desirable
