Key Responsibilities
  • Developing film ideas in collaboration with teams across Twig and Imagine Learning 

  • Scripting films to an exemplary standard for students across a range of ages and abilities

  • Researching and evaluating footage for use in films

  • Developing visual ideas and writing graphics briefs

  • Directing, reviewing and providing feedback on edits

  • Directing voice-over artists and attending sound mixing sessions

  • Preparation and undertaking of internal and external film shoots, crewing and liaising with external providers 

  • Managing communication to, and feedback from, internal and external stakeholders, including the Head of Film Production

  • Work with the Production Manager to collate and keep track of delivery, review and feedback schedules between internal departments and external partners

  • Work with archive and rights team to ensure content is clearable and cleared

  • Task managing Editors, Researchers, Producers and Assistant Producers as required

  • Raising risks to quality, schedule or budget

  • Working with the Production Manager, and HoFP where necessary, to source and recruit production talent

Essential skills and experience
  • A proven track record in producing broadcast video or digital productions
  • A minimum of 2 years (or 4 credits) working at Senior or Series Producer level 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to lead production meetings and keep all team members updated 
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • A solid understanding of wider video production processes from pre-production through to finishing
  • An ability to create an atmosphere of cooperation and communication between pre-production/ development, production and post production
  • Line management experience – setting objectives, appraising team members. An ability to mentor and guide production staff
  • Flexibility and resilience – our projects have multiple, interdependent parts and continuously develop and adapt

Work Environment

We operate a hybrid working model with three days spent in the Glasgow office and two working from home. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring they have a suitable working space which supports high performance.
